Objectives:
After this class, students will be able to:
1. analyze Greek drama through the psychoanalytic lens.
2. find evidence to support claims about characterization.
3. generate questions for discussion.

Agenda:
1. Students will be visited by a representative from the Student Success Center to register for SATs.

2. Students will take the following quick quiz on their reading of Oedipus (40 points):
a. Describe the psychological conflict between Oedipus and Creon on pages 40 - 43. (5 lines)
b. At this point in the play, what word would you use to describe Oedipus' character - arrogant, compassionate, indifferent, proud, naive, or childish? Explain why you chose this word, and provide a quote to support your choice. (5 lines)
c. What 3 clues does Jocasta unknowingly provide to Oedipus in his attempt to solve the murder mystery? (3 lines)

3. Exit slip: Students will generate one discussion question about the play Oedipus.

HOMEWORK: Students will finish reading the play Oedipus (pages 55 - 68) and come Monday prepared to discuss.
