Objectives:
After this class, students will be able to:
a. read, listen to, and analyze drama.
b. define and determine tone in literature.
c. reflect on personal experiences and opinions.

Agenda:
1. Warm-Up: Students should answer the following question in their notebooks: Think of the last person that you spoke with. What was the tone of the conversation that you had? Ms. Kingsbury will solicit students for their answers.

2. We will continue to read Antigone: pages 1349 - 1357

3. We will define tone and begin to describe tone throughout Antigone. Handout will be distributed: http://ecr.lausd.k12.ca.us/staff/jfirestein/Tone%20Words.pdf

Homework:
a. Find tone for Antigone’s opening speech on page 1343, and provide evidence to support choice.
b. Find tone for Ismene’s refusal speech on page 1344, and provide evidence to support choice.
