Warm-Up: Please go to the essay THE WAYS WE LIE (p.
120), and write down, in
your own words, the definitions for each of the lie terms. These
can be short (1-2 lines).
Our Lying Project: Now we will
apply the terms that we learned this week. You will take 3-5 magazines and search for FIVE images or headlines
that seem like they could be lies.
You will rip those pages out of the magazine and provide the following
explanation:
This
image/headline is an example of the lying term: _____________. Let me
explain how: __________ (2-3
sentences). You
can write your explanations on a sheet of notebook paper and attach your
magazine pages behind it, or you can make a cool collage with the explanations
and pictures (I will provide you with paper, scissors, tape, markers, etc.). YOU DECIDE. DUE MONDAY!
Also, don’t forget my weekly paper for today.
Seniors in all classes will work on Senior Projects items (career goals essays and recommendation request letters) as well as finish their weekly papers.
