Ack! Extreme negligence on Ms. Kingsbury's part on updating the class website. Since I last posted, the following events have taken place:
1. PSSA testing occurred 3/17 - 3/19. Students arrived at 11:30 a.m. Periods 1, 2, 3, and 9 had class. Periods 4 to 8 did not meet. Students were given an opportunity to work in the computer lab on their PowerPoint presentations.
2. The 3rd marking period ended on March 20. Report cards will be distributed to parents on April 14 between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The FINAL marking period is underway! Keep up the good work!
3. In-class PowerPoint presentations WILL OCCUR OVER THE NEXT MONTH. Students can receive up to 500 points for their presentations. Students are assigned to take notes on each presentation, which included: presenter's name, topic, 3 things they learned, and 1 question for the presenter. Students will turn in these notes for points after the prom.
4. Students began to read HEART OF DARKNESS by Joseph Conrad. This proved to be a very difficult read, and students will now be assigned this as an optional reading. We will begin reading DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE on Tuesday, April 14, as decided by class vote.
5. Crunch time is upon us. The AP Exam is scheduled for May 7!
6. Spring Break from April 6 - 10. Hope you enjoyed your time off!
Stay engaged! Stay in school! Stick with this thing till the end! Only SEVEN more weeks to go!
