Objectives:

2. provide textual evidence to prove a point.
3. read, listen to, and understand Greek drama.
Agenda:
For homework, students were to read up to page 1372 in the play of Antigone. Today we will finish reading the play. We will take 2-column Cornell Notes on the following:
a. Characterization (Antigone, Ismene, Creon, Haemon, and Tiersias)
b. Personification
c. Antigone versus Creon (i.e., God Rules! versus I Hate Women!)
Homework: Questions for students to answer in their notebooks: Based on Artistotle’s definition, can Antigone be classified as a tragic hero? Why or why not? Could she be classified as an anti-hero? Why or why not? Would you classify Antigone as a dynamic character or static character? Why? Provide evidence from the text to support your answers.
