Objectives:
After this class, students will be able to:
a. gauge progression of learning about argument.
b. apply knowledge of a story to a testing environment.
c. connect personally to nonfiction materials.
Agenda:
1. Warm-Up: Students will answer the following question in the notebooks: Is there anything in your life that you have learned which you now wish you never knew about? Describe this situation. Alternatively, have you ever told someone something you wish you could take back? (4 lines)
2. Last night, students were to have read "How I Learned to Read and Write" by Frederick Douglas. Students will take a 9 question reading quiz/practice AP exam. Students will be graded on participation. We will review answers and discuss the reading.
Homework: Students should read "How I Leared to Read" by Macolm X (pages 245-254) from 50 Essays for Friday.
